India using chemical weapons against Kashmiris: Hafiz Saeed

Global terrorist, but a free man in Pakistan: 5 things to know about Hafiz Saeed

He said he would not have banned the LeT group if he had known more about Saeed. "Time has come to start finding ways of talking with Pakistan and finding a solution which will be in the interest of people of Pakistan, India, and the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh", Abdullah said, adding the people were paying the price for the rift between the two countries.

Musharraf is now in Dubai, where he has taken refuge after Pakistan charged him with treason.

According to various sources, Pervez Musharraf said that Lashkar-e-Taiba are the strongest forces.

Former President Pervez Musharraf has declared that he is the greatest supporter of proscribed militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

"Yes, they (LeT) are involved in Kashmir. This is the biggest force and they have been declared terrorists by India and the United States jointly", Musharraf said, explaining his stance.

On previous occasions too, General Musharraf had denied that Hafiz Saeed's JuD or LeT was involved in the 2008 Mumbai attack that left 168 people dead.

In an interview to Pakistani TV channel ARY News, Musharraf, who is now in exile in Dubai, said he was the biggest supporter of Lashkar and its founder Hafiz Saeed.

Mastermind of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks Hafiz Saeed, who was released from house arrest in Pakistan on November 24, would have to wait for his name to be removed from the United Nation's list of designated terrorists till the world body gets an ombudsperson to hear his petition. The organisation that is exclusively responsible for banned Lashkar-e-Taiba is The Jammat-ud-Dawa that was responsible for carrying out the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks in 2008.

A Lahore High Court had recently freed Hafiz Saeed from 10 months of house arrest after Islamabad failed to submit enough proof against him.

The US government has already warned Pakistan of "repercussions" on US-Pak ties if Hafiz Saeed is not re-arrested. Pervez Musharraf came in a coup in Pakistan in 1999 and said that he was ready to face all charges as the courts are not under Nawaz Sharif's control anymore.
