Kashmir: 10 soldiers injured in grenade attack

Militants hurl grenade at Central Reserve Police Force camp in Kashmir’s Tral nine jawans injured

In the last couple of weeks, attempts of infiltration from across the line of control and ceasefire violation has gone up. However, no injuries were reported.

According to reports, three jawans are in critical condition and have been rushed to 92 Base Hospital in Srinagar for treatment. "Searches in the area are presently on", said Yadav.

Two security men were injured when terrorists, under the cover of stone-pelting mob, hurled a powerful grenade on the security forces at Saraf Kadal in old Srinagar city late Sunday night.

Militants also attacked policemen guarding the residence of Justice (retd.) Muzaffar Attar in Anantnag town of south Kashmir and decamped with four rifles.

The militants lobbed grenade at a camp of the CRPF's 180 Battalion at 6.05 p.m.

This was the third attack on the force in last 24 hours.

Terrorists targeted the camp at Lariyar village in Pulwama district, 40 km away from Srinagar, officials said. Terrorists fired at least 10 rounds of bullets, one of which hit a civilian.

On Monday, soldiers deployed along the Line of Control in Poonch detected suspicious movement at around 03:30 am and engaged "Pakistan-backed terrorists", a defence spokesman told PTI. Troops swung into action and fired back. "First priority is to evacuate the injured", an official said. Hizbul Mujahideen claimed responsibility for the attack.

Reports also came from Soibugh, Bugam in central Kashmir that militants attacked an army camp.

The army has neutralised 14 infiltrators in north Kashmir and believes the situation is crucial as there has been desperation from the Pakistani side to send their men into the Valley.
