ICC Champions Trophy 2017

India shouldn’t go home for a while if they lose to Bangladesh in Champions Trophy Geoffrey Boycott

We are focussing on our semi-final.

They were laughing and enjoying as Dhawan, Kohli and Yuvraj danced a bit more showing each other a few moves of theirs.

"Even the other day (against NZ), I thought they were outstanding the way they applied themselves and chased the total down and they showed a lot of composure and patience, and that is always a sign of a side that is mature now, that knows how to win matches from hard situations". Their stunning win over New Zealand has been the high point of the tournament so far.

By 1979, still dealing with many issues of post-war reconstruction, Bangladesh entered their first global tournament, the ICC Trophy in England, a tournament designed for the non-Test playing nations in which they lost to Canada and Denmark. Although they had luck going their way as the match against Australia got washed out.

All three of Australia's matches were interrupted by the UK's less-than-glorious weather.

On the other hand, Bangladesh are no longers minnows of global cricket. It was a cruel blow for the men from down under.

India intend to keep an unchanged side from Sunday's win against South Africa that secured their passage after a wobble against Sri Lanka, retaining the spinner Ravi Ashwin in place of Umesh Yadav, despite the strapping fast bowler being one of the destroyers of Bangladesh when they were bowled out for 84 in a pre-tournament warm-up at The Oval. "It is a unusual feeling to be in Kolkata when India and Bangladesh will be playing such an important match". Mahmudallah will also look to add strength to the side's batting while openers Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar will have to give the team a good start against India. Taking the attack to India's bowlers comes with its own disadvantages but Bangladesh coming in with a "nothing to lose" attitude might just help them hurt India's gameplan like Sri Lanka did. The match today between England and Pakistan will decide who will be the first finalist and who goes home. As India gear up to take on Bangladesh in the ICC Champions Trophy semifinals, a photo has gone viral disrespecting the Indian flag.

There is concern from cricket fans all around the world that the infamous British weather may spoil the semifinals. The aggressive Kohli enthusiastically participated to lighten up the pressure, a day before the semi-final match with Bangladesh.

"Obviously we have been disappointed, especially in India the T20 World Cup where we couldn't go through three balls, needed two runs, and our best two batsmen in the wicket".

According to the weather forecast, no rain is expected during the semi-final in Cardiff.

The ICC has also included specific rules for the semi-finals, if they end as a tie.

"The team played really well, it was a complete performance and I certainly don't feel that there is any need to change".
